To commemorate the 25th anniversary of International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), APIC and the National Journal are hosting a policy summit featuring key opinion leaders who will explore the necessary resources to eliminate preventable infections and how healthcare reform efforts can improve outcomes for patients. The summit, titled Spreading Success: Encouraging Best Practices in Infection Prevention, will be webcast live from Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. EDT.

The policy summit will feature the following infection prevention leaders: Denise E. Cardo, MD, director, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); Linda Greene, RN, MPS, CIC, APIC Board Member and director of Infection Prevention, Rochester General Hospital; Manoj Jain, MD, MPH, medical director, Tennessee’s Quality Improvement Organization; and Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, MSHA, FACP, senior vice president of Quality and CMO of HCA Holdings.
